Bring Forth “The Mighty Thor!” in D&D 5th Edition!

“Do I look to be in a gaming mood!?”

Hello everybody! Welcome to this week’s edition of Building Character! This week, we travel to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to study the son of Odin, Thor! Let’s dive in and find out how to bring our own version of the thunder god to the mean streets of Waterdeep.

Hailing from distant Asgard, sent to Midgard to learn humility, and rising again as one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Thor has come a long way from the pages of myth and legend. As always, we’ll be building him as faithfully to the source (in this case, the Marvel Cinematic Universe) as possible while staying in the lines for organized D&D play.  Continue reading “Bring Forth “The Mighty Thor!” in D&D 5th Edition!”

Creating Selina Kyle, “Catwoman” in D&D 5th Edition!

“Like the view? It’s the only thing you’ll be catching tonight.”

Hello everybody! Welcome to this week’s edition of Building Character! This time, we’re straying from the hyper-masculine sword swingers, and turning our attention to one of pop culture’s most well-known thieves: Catwoman!

Born on the mean streets of Gotham city’s East End, Selina Kyle learned how to fend for herself. Developing her skills as a con artist, pickpocket, fighter, and cat burglar, she grew into a capable criminal. The worst day of your life is probably better than the best day of his… The Black Swordsman, Guts, is a living embodiment of determination. Born under a sign of misfortune, he has lived his life on the battlefield. The baddest man in any room he enters, Guts wields the meteoric-sized greatsword, Dragonslayer, against everything from evil angels to demonic overlords. He has dedicated his life to protecting the one woman he loves, and striking down the man who took everything away from him. Without further ado, let’s build this absolute engine of vengeance in D&D 5th edition!

Creating Geralt of Rivia, from “The Witcher”, in D&D 5th Edition (First post!!!)

Gwynbleidd, the White Wolf.

Welcome to Building Character! This blog is dedicated to creating heroes and pop culture icons in Dungeons and Dragons, 5th Edition. I will be releasing a build for one of fiction’s greatest heroes (or villains) to make them as close to their source material as possible within the bounds of the world’s most popular tabletop RPG. The goal at this time is to release one of these builds every week, as fiction is absolutely stuffed with worthy candidates for the spotlight. I’ll be using several sources for building these characters, and you can feel free to use these builds to emulate (or imitate shamelessly!) your favorites.
