‘You better watch out, you better not cry! You better not put, I’m tellin’ you why. ‘Cause I’ve come to town!’

Merry Christmas, Buildies! A ho ho holiday quickie of a build just for you loyal little elves. Weiss Schnee Chills the Hearts of her Foes in D&D 5th Edition!

Marvelous art by Zienu!

‘It’s exactly as you said: I’m a Schnee. I have a legacy of honor to uphold. Once I realized I was capable of fighting, there was no longer a question of what I would do with my life. It was my duty.’

December is here, and with it comes Winter’s (literal) little sister, Weiss! Hi Buildies, and thanks again for dropping by! It’s chilly outside, so close that door, get a fire roarin’, and settle in with some hot cocoa while we create the Schnee Dust Company’s finest huntress in D&D.

Becoming The Batman in D&D 5th Edition!

“Criminals, by nature, are a cowardly and superstitious lot. To instill fear into their hearts, I became a bat. A monster in the night.”

It’s been a long time coming, so thanks for sticking with us Buildies! Today we’re tackling a brutal build for a brutal man, the Dark Knight himself: Batman! We’ll be creating the mortal who stands shoulder to shoulder with gods and monsters in Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, so you can bring the Bat to your gaming table when that epic level 20 session gets called. Let’s summon the Batmobile and ‘Batman Begin’! (The first of many bad puns, I assure you.)

Hunting Down the Wolverine in D&D 5th Edition!

“I’m the best I am at what I do. And what I do ain’t very nice.”

Hello my fellow X-Men! Today we’re on the hunt with the greatest hunter to roam the Canadian wilderness, The Wolverine! We’ll be seeing how the most famous of mutants can be brought to life with D&D 5th Edition. We’ll be primarily taking influence from the comics for his build, so let’s climb in the Blackbird and get started!

Flying Into the Black with Malcolm Reynolds in D&D 5th Edition!

“Listen, you don’t know me, son, so I’m gonna say this once: if I ever kill you, you’ll be awake, you’ll be facing me, and you’ll be armed.”

Hello Browncoats and Buildies! This week we’re steering a Firefly class transport out into the black with my favorite Han solo expy, Captain Malcolm Reynolds. We’ll be taking a look at what makes him tick, and how you can bring him to your table for D&D 5th edition. Without further ado, go on and bring me the sky!

Into the Wilds with Morrigan!

“How odd. We now have a dog and Alistair is still the dumbest one in the party.”

Hey friends and fellow Buildies! (That’s your name as of 5 seconds ago.) Welcome to the domain of the apostate mage, Morrigan of the Wilds. Hailing from the untamed forests of Ferelden, Morrigan brings her shapeshifting and elemental magic to bear against the looming tide of Darkspawn in the Dragon Age series.

While the magic systems in DA & D&D are fundamentally different, we’ll be doing our best to mimic her abilities and preserve the flavor of the character as we bring her to life at our game table. (Bonus, listen to this while reading for the full effect.)

Let’s up our nonexistant sleeves and start casting!

Beware the dark lord of the Sith, Darth Vader! Sorry about the delay folks, had some real life issues crop up but we’re back this week with my personal favorite movie villain of all time. I took to the Internet in search of the wisest nerds and gamers, all to figure out the best way to represent Darth Vader at the everyman’s gaming table. Hunting Grimm with Ruby Rose in D&D 5th Edition!

“As a girl, I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books… Someone who fought for what was right, and protected people who couldn’t protect themselves!”

Hold onto your Ballistic Sniper Scythe, this week’s Building Character is all about everyone’s favorite ball of optimism and rose petals, Ruby! I’ve been a big fan of Monty Oum’s most well-known work since the beginning, and although it was a bit of a head-scratcher as to how best to represent her in D&D 5e, it was a challenge worth taking. Spoilers will abound, so go watch the whole 5 volumes right away! It’ll only take, like, a day since the episodes are short. Let’s dive right in!

Summoning Fate/Stay Night’s Saber in D&D 5th Edition!

“I only joined this war to avoid spilling rivers of blood. Fighting for the Holy Grail, no meaningless bloodshed, to minimize sacrifices… one person taking up the mission of fate instead of armies of men competing here! This is what we Servants should do.”

Are you my Master? Welcome to this week’s Building Character! Today we’ll be building Saber from the Fate series. I’m a big fan of Type Moon’s magnum opus, so go watch Fate/Stay Night before reading this if you like a good action anime. As always, you can build a character in many different ways, so this is JMO: Just My Opinion. Also, spoilers abound!

…Did everyone who hasn’t seen Fate leave? Good, let’s get started!
